LIFE HISTORY OF WIREWORM
Wireworms live in the soil, feeding on plants. A wireworm eats
. and grows for four or five years. At the end of this time it is about
1 inch long. Usually at the end of its fourth year it pupates and
emerges in the following spring asa click-beetle. The click-beetles mate © marcn
and the females lay eggs from which young wireworms hatch. Most
of the beetles are dead by autumn.
